Installation Tips

Before disassembly clean the exterior of the manifold.

It is common that the mounting surface will have some galling. Take off any high spots of the cylinder mounting surface with a honing stone.

Check for cracks.
Most likely on early block designs, a crack can develop at the pilot check valve nose.
